C4 extreme by Cellucor
Excuse me doc but how long does C4 extreme by cellucore stay in your system after taking it for 3 days? because i took it on Friday, Monday and Tuesday. Is C4 extreme by Cellucor illegal?
AskDocWeb: Here is the answer we found from Cellucor, "Although none of our products contain illegal substances, the answer to this question depends on what the specific athletic governing body is testing for. The NCAA, for example, prohibits the use of stimulants (such as Caffeine). We advise that athletes consult with their respective governing bodies to ensure their supplement regimen is within guidelines and obtain clearance prior to using any Cellucor product." If you live in Australia you should know that one of the ingredients (Mucuna pruriens) is banned.
Positive for amphetamines
A little background; one of my employees took a mandatory drug test as per our drug policy. This particular employee has had an issue with meth in the past. Anyways, the drug test came back positive for amphetamines. The employee said they should have been clean and mentioned they drank a 5 hour energy drink and took some maximum strength "up time" dietary supplements (3 capsules) and of course blames it on those. The "up time" has eleuthero extract, green tea extract, ginseng, korean (root), astragalus (root), cayenne (fruit), guarana extract, kola nut extract, yerba mate (leaf), maca (root), suma (root), noni (root), schisandra (berry), reishi mushroom (whole). I was wondering if any of those ingredients would cause a positive for amphetamines on a drug test?
AskDocWeb: None of those ingredients are on our watch list. However, several diet supplements are known to test false positive for amphetamine. These are usually found to contain ephedrol, ephedra, or pseudoephedrine. The most commonly mentioned is Ma Haung. Since the possibility of a false positive exists, the only way to be certain is to get additional testing done with a more accurate test.
Question regarding false positives on drug screenings: will/can naltrexone cause a false positive? It's not on your list. But I was told that it does
AskDocWeb: According to Dr. Chip at Just Answer, naltrexone might cause a false positive for oxycodone but so far we have not been able to document that. Naltrexone has also been reported to test positive for opiates on almost all at-home drug screens.
Herbalife Green Tea
Herbalife Green Tea...I'm testing for drugs in my urine. Do I have anything to be concerned about regarding drinking this product?
AskDocWeb: There are no reports of Herbalife Green Tea showing up on any urine drug test for drugs of abuse.
I have a client who is in a custody battle for her baby, she was drug tested. She told them she was using dermaplast on a boil, the guy that did the test said not to worry, just bring the package the next time she comes. She got called the next day and they took her visitation away because she tested positive for cocaine. Is this possible? She swears she does not use cocaine, I don't know what to believe.
AskDocWeb: She may have seen benzocaine in the ingredient list for Dermoplast®. However, the "caine" in benzocaine does not mean that it will test positive for cocaine. That aside, we believe it is still possible that her test was a false positive and getting a confirmation test would settle the issue one way or the other.
Test at lab corp
I have a drug test tomorrow and have stopped smoking marijuana for 27 days. I took a redi test and the line for thc wasn't as dark as the line for cocain and opium but a faint line did pop up. I looked online and saw a you tube video that said regardless of how faint the line it's a negative result. I have to test at lab corp will they go by the same example shown on the video? Please help.
AskDocWeb: Sorry Chris, we have no way of knowing if they will or not.
Are these results for urine or blood tests?
AskDocWeb: The list applies to urine tests for drugs of abuse. A blood test would be more accurate but a GC/MS test may be used to confirm both urine and blood tests.
My son in law was asked to give a drug urine test for dcf he was scared because he had smoked marihuana. So he diluted only pure apple juice, shockingly it came back a pos. for cocaine and methadone, although the lines showed the test to be neg.- .. Gow is this at all possible? They poured the exact same urine in another test container and that one came up pos.+ for many differant drugs what could be going on? I don't condone ANY kind of drug use, I myself take tramadol and I hate having to even use that, I just want you to understand I don't condone what he did, but I'm baffled. Please help me figure this one out.
AskDocWeb: When you say, "They poured the exact same urine" who was doing the pouring, professionals or amateurs? There is a great deal of difference in the quality standards between those two groups. Error rates vary even among professionals, which is why certification standards have been developed by SAMHSA. That's the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. One of their jobs is to set national standards for drug testing laboratories and certify that they meet those standards. Laboratories that are not certified by SAMHSA generally have higher rates of errors and false positives.
Please help me understand
First let me say I personally do not use any type of drugs... My son n law was asked to give a urine drug screen for. A serious matter, he was afraid because he had used marijuana, so he gave them a sample of slightly diluted apple juice, well shockingly it came back pos.+ for cocaine and methadone , now something else was it had the lines to show it was -neg. so I am in complete shock and disbelief , as I'm sure you can imagine , what on earth could have caused apple juice to show a pos.+ result? Please help me understand, Thank you
AskDocWeb: You may want to consider the possibility that if your son-in-law would attempt to deceive a drug test, he may also be dishonest with his in-laws.
False positives for cocaine
can you please tell me all the over the counter medications as well as prescription medications that could cause false positives for cocaine.
AskDocWeb: Please see this page.
Positive for DAMP
Nitraflex I popped positive for DAMP at around 600-700 nanograms. I have not taken any drugs, so my explaiation would be various supplements I was taking. GAT Nitraflex preworkout contains DMAE, and several other ingriedients i cannot find much research on. Any help on what made be pop positive would help.
AskDocWeb: Sorry Paul, our database doesn't contain a listing for anything that would cause a false positive for DAMP.
Positive for Opiates and Oxycodone
I have been taking Vicodin and Ibuprofen for oral surgery for the last month. Prior to taking this, my urine drug screening tests have been negative. Since taking Vicodin, I am testing positive for Opiates as well as Oxycodone. I am only taking Vicodin with Ibuprofen. However, I do take Topomax. In addition, I had a separate lab do a "Confirmation Test" and it came back negative on the Oxycodone, but positive on not only Opiates - but Dilaudid. I am not and have not taken either Oxycodone or Dilaudid. Could the Topomax cause an interaction, and - if do, how can I prove this do that I can keep my integrity?
AskDocWeb: Dilaudid® is a brand name of dihydromorphinone, more commonly referred to as hydromorphone, which is a narcotic of the opiate class of drugs. While Dilaudid® is known to sometime test false positive for oxycodone (Reference: 57), we do not believe that Topomax would cause an interaction that might result in a false positive.
If your drug test makes a distinction between natural and synthetic opiates then Vicodin may not show up as an opiate as it contains a synthetic opiate (hydrocodone).
