I've been taking ambien for 3-4 years & I have never had any problems with it til now. I got my prescription a few days ago & took my 10mg at night as I was getting ready for bed, I was about to get in bed & lay down when all of the sudden I had to run to the bathroom & vomit! This happened for 3-4 days so I know it has to be the ambien. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Does anyone know why this could be happening? I need my sleep:) Any answers or help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you :)
After taking ambien. Within 20 mins. I'm severely loopy Sounds start tripping Me out Then I start smeezing like every 5 seconds I'm not sure what's going on but it's helping.
I have found it to be amazing. I was having so much anxiety about going to sleep, and not sleeping, I would just stay up. I am a night hawk anyway, but when I do go to bed, I go to sleep right away, and since I am retired, I don't have to get up early. I have been taking it for 2 months, and have no side effects to speak of. I wake up feeling better than I have in months, and feel alert and energetic throughout the day. I love it!
This drug takes you places like valium. I can not sleep without it. How does it play with Impramine and Trasadone.
AskDocWeb: Using multiple sleep aids at the same time is not recommended. Please discuss this with your doctor.
I thought I was losing my mind. Yes it did help me sleep, but when I wasn't sleeping I was going insane. Angry. Sad. The last time I took it I was awakinging from a deep sleep got out of bed, callapsed to the ground hard, landing on my tailbone and thrashing around like a dog hitting my head severely on the bed frame. I only took it for three weeks. I would rather stay up all night than ever take this drug.
Sleep driving and sleep drinking
STAY AWAY AND RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS MEDICINE. I took 10 mg. Ambien for 3 weeks......worst mistake of my life! It has destroyed my life. I had my job over 20 yrs. and lost it due to the side effects of this horrid medicine. I had a job at almost $20.00 an hr. and now I don't. Instead I now have a DUI record, an arrest record, accidents (because I was sleep driving and sleep drinking). I had almost every side effect there is associated with it. I had amnesia, made phone calls and didn't know it, sleep driving, sleep cooking, sleep eating, SEVERE mood changes, sleep DUI (by the way....I don't drink), muscle and joint pain, memory loss, confusion, sleep shopping, I had people at my home for hrs. and don't remember any of it, nausea, drug "hangover", you name it....I had it.
Now, 2 1/2 mos. after stopping the medicine, I am having weird dreams...very vivid and violent, hallucinations ( if I wake up during the night) that scare me, sleep walking (never have I done this in my life). The maker of this medicine should have to pay me for ruining my life. My husband now hides the car keys at night because he is afraid that I will sleepwalk and get in the car and drive. He leaves town on business and feels he has to get a sitter for me. To be so out of control of yourself and not even know that you are is scary.
The stories that my family tell me of what I was doing, horrifies me. My daughter thought that I was getting dementia. The worst thing about it is that I have always been very responsible and level headed. But, I literally LOST MY FREAKING MIND and didn't even know it until it was too late. What I would love to know is: How long are the after effects going to last? Also, can I go after this company that makes it?
AskDocWeb: Most effects go away within several days following discontinuation of the drug however, there are reports from some ex-patients of cravings for Ambien that persist for months.
As for going after the manufacturer, you would have to ask a Lawyer if you have grounds for a case.
With Ambien I feel like I'm an airhead
I'm 44 years old. With a ambien prescription that I only take when needed. So about last week of October to present. I have been taking ambien more often than ever to help me sleep. I have had terrible headaches for nearly a month now. And, the oddest thing happened. I would sleep all day if I can. Take naps before I have to leave for work. Then feeling like I'm sleep walking. So happy and felt superficial. Then. One day at work I found a old receipt and wrote it down And started doing transaction and did same thing 1 week later and then tried to cash in for gas money and get my daughter her rubber band loom at Michaels- so when 2 1/2 weeks all thru my life- did this weirdest thing. Commited dishonesty. And so when I was finger printed in jail ... Told the custody officer that I'm too old for this And can't believe I did what I did- he said usually its been a problem since younger age.
Then here I am. Thinking never did anything like this before - Grew up fortunate Nd now just broke all the time - and for the last 12 mons of hardship - now I tried to cash in for gas and some shopping spree for my kids. ... And why ????? Made me think deeper?? Headaches? Ambien for the last 2- 3 weeks .... Help? Do you think ambien impaired my judgment and now - I feel that since I have been consistently taken ambien that - I feel like I'm an airhead. Need your opinion ---- honestly have never tried to steal or do something weird and clever - and not afraid - and now I'm thinking only difference is that I have been taking ambien and combine with my Zoloft for my nervousness.
AskDocWeb: There is a moderately serious drug interaction possible between those two drugs. Using Ambien together with zoloft may increase side effects of difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience some impairment in thinking and judgment. This is one of the reasons why the manufacturer advises patients to void driving or operating hazardous machinery until they know how the medications affect them.
